As a school-age child, I struggled to understand mathematics. When I asked questions, I often felt that my concerns went unanswered. Sometimes the concept was simply retaught in the same way, or I was given additional problems to complete. Unfortunately, neither approach helped me truly understand the mathematics being taught. Then, one year, everything changed. I had an amazing teacher who did more than teach—she listened, explained, encouraged, and walked alongside us when we struggled with a concept. Through her patience and intentional instruction, I discovered something that would shape my life and my purpose: my struggle with mathematics was not a reflection of my ability or intelligence. I simply needed to be taught in a way that made sense to me. That year, my mathematical understanding, confidence, and accuracy soared, and that experience stayed with me. For more than 20 years, I have carried the same commitment into my work as an educator and tutor: to create the experience I needed as a child for every student I serve.

As the founder of Fishes & Loaves Learning Hub, my heart is to help students recognize that they are capable, intelligent, and equipped to learn mathematics. I believe every student deserves to be seen, heard, understood, and taught in a way that honors how they learn. What began as my personal struggle has become part of my purpose. I am building Fishes & Loaves Learning Hub to help students not only improve their mathematical skills, but also develop the confidence, mindset, and belief in themselves to approach mathematics with courage.

And I believe this purpose is bigger than me. It is part of what GOD has entrusted me to do.
